As President of AFSCME Council 5 Local 552, Reeves advocated for the rights of working families, ensuring that public services were not only effective but accessible. Her leadership within the union allowed her to fight for fair treatment, the protection of worker rights, and the responsible allocation of public resources. “When we fail to properly allocate resources, it’s the most vulnerable who suffer,” Reeves says. “We must ensure that the systems in place serve everyone fairly and effectively.”

“I’ve worked hard to make sure everyone, no matter their background, has a voice in the process. Whether it’s through union negotiations or working on community commissions, I’ve always aimed to create policies that are inclusive and fair,” she says.
