A new survey shows Americans have similar views of President-elect Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk, a key ally of Trump as he prepares to return to the White House, in terms of likeability. It became clear that there was.

An Associated Press-NORC Research Center poll released Tuesday found that 41 percent of respondents had a “very” or “somewhat” favorable view of Mr. Musk. Similarly, 36% said the same about President Trump.

Meanwhile, 51% of respondents said they viewed SpaceX’s CEO very or somewhat unfavorably, compared to 60% of the president-elect, the survey found.

Recent Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings show that during the 2024 White House campaign, Musk will seek to secure a second term for the beleaguered former president, who has faced several legal battles. It spent at least $250 million and strongly supported Trump’s candidacy.

The billionaire, who runs multiple companies and is the world’s richest person, is an active campaign surrogate while backing his preferred candidates on social media platform X, which he purchased in 2022. He was also a person.

Following Trump’s victory in November, the president-elect selected Musk and his rival in the 2024 Republican primary, Vivek Ramaswamy, to lead the newly created Department of Government Efficiency. The team will focus on restructuring federal agencies, cutting regulations and reducing “wasteful spending.” ”

Musk’s favorability rating among Democrats dropped to single digits during Trump’s campaign, according to previous polls.

An NBC News poll conducted in September found that only 6% of Democrats had positive feelings toward the entrepreneur, while 79% said they had negative feelings. The survey also found that 62% of Republicans have positive feelings, while only 14% have negative thoughts.

Independents in the NBC survey were divided, with 31% having a positive impression of masks and the remaining 36% having a negative impression.

The AP-NORC poll used interviews with 1,251 U.S. adults between Dec. 5 and 9. The margin of error is 3.7 percentage points.
